A full-size truck is not a substitute for a passenger car. I have an F-150, but I only use it when needed as a truck. It only carries 3 people ( 2 comfortably). To me its a second vehicle that gets 15-16 mpg, so it sits most of the time.

It makes more sense to me to have the Prius as the everyday car, and a truck for when needed.

I see nothing wrong with having some kind of fuel efficient car for normal use.

I don't think its an attitude thing with the owners, maybe if it was a Smart car, I can't see those, not efficient enough for its' size, IMO.

For just one ordinary car, I'd buy a used Honda Accord/ Civic or similar.
